Make Your Girlfriend ‘Appear’ Hot

“Yah, but she’s airbrushed…” *sigh* the obligatory excuse from women across the world who are in denial about their looks. Of course she’s airbrushed, and of course she’s made more visits to Dr. 90210 than Tori Spelling. But who cares? Lets face it, society at large is a fickle bunch and we spend the majority of our lives chasing an elusive image we’ll likely never get. But have you ever wondered just how those pesky graphics people actually go about making that ‘7′ into a ‘10′ ? If so, check out this amazing tutorial on photo retouching and airbrushing portrait shots. In all seriousness, it’s a terrific write up on correcting model photography for your next catalog or brochure and a great bookmark for your arsenal.
I have to say, I have been a long time reader of your site but have grown increasingly tired of sexist posts like this one. Women are victims of society and if it weren’t for chauvinistic males, we’d be a lot better off. Natural is beautiful and a woman needn’t have surgeries or get airbrushed to be “hot.”
Err.. thanks Jane. But really - perhaps you don’t pick up on our sarcasm or comedic tone. We’re writers, and as such play off societal paradigms and ironic musings. We try and write stuff that’s informative, but also entertaining and occasionally try and have a little fun with it. Our apologies if you or anyone is offended but try not to take stuff so literal. We kid around. A lot.
@Jane:
Um… says who?
Men find women attractive. Beauty is a valid quality to admire, and while having moral fiber is a very large part of having overall beauty, aesthetic loveliness is a good thing in and of itself.
Men admire physical beauty. If men and women are TRULY equal, then that means that what is important to us is as equally valid as what’s important to women, so why is it women would be better off without chauvinistic men?
One could also say that men would be better off without chauvinistic women as well.
And by the way, who says that natural is better?
If that’s the case, get off the computer, get out of your comfy little surroundings, and go live with the bushmen of Namibia, then tell me how “natural is beautiful” and about chauvinism then.
And if “natural is beautiful” why is it no one is paying money to see “Indigenous Girls Gone Wild”?
I’m not advocating objectification, or oppressing women, but the extreme you’ve taken it to is just as moronic as the other extreme.
Ahhh, you’re making my girlfriend (I wish)
As a professional photographe, I airbrush photos of female models all the time. It’s not a sexist issue to me; just a known fact in the photography industry that the camera and lights do not see people the same way as we do with our eyes.
If you could see what I see when I bring up the original, unedited version … My, My!!
All women are beautiful. It’s just that most need a little help.

And what about the link? It’s dead? Where can i find the tutorial?
