It seems that imitation is the better form of flattery. But one has to cringe when a ubiquitous and homogenous fast-food chain steals the art campaign from a true artist. The item in question is McDonald’s new “easy natural” campaign, and its overwhelming similarity to that of Nine Inch Nails’ 1999 album “The Fragile.” It would seem the golden arches copied nearly everything, including the (then different) bisected logo. Blatant copy? Coincidence? You be the judge. Take a look at the side by side comparison here.
BLATANT copy.
Sure looks like copy stuff to me. What can you expect ethically these days when so many supposedly reputable companies are stealing lots of things and CEO’s are taking in more than is conscionably reasonable. We seem to be seeing unrestricted use, overuse, and obnoxious use of ideas, images, and concepts mostly in the name of increasing self image…one’s reputation. It may not stop for until we all begin to self-regulate.
I encourage you to take a look at this site…really beautiful and mostly functional:

May we work for ethical treatment of each other.

But is it a rip off or a sell out?
Where did you find this information? I can’t believe McDonalds would rip off a well known artists so blatantly!
